We Donate To Charity

When you donate such a precious gift as embryos, you are truly “paying it forward,” as one of our past embryo donors so beautifully stated. We applaud you for your extraordinary gift. In honor of your charitable giving, we too have decided to “pay it forward."

As part of your application process, you will be asked to select one of ten charities. They consist of three international, five national and two regional charities. Your chosen charity will receive a contribution from EDI according to the following guidelines:

1 embryo donated: $30 given to your chosen charity
2 embryos donated: $60 given to your chosen charity
3 or more embryos donated: $100 given to your chosen charity
 

When your paperwork is completed and your embryos arrive at EDI, our contribution will be sent to the charity of your choice. We will protect your confidentiality and not provide your name or any personal information to the charity. We have asked that a confirmation letter acknowledging the donation be sent to us, which we will then forward to you.

Below Are The Charities EDI Has Chosen:

We felt it important to evaluate charities based on their mission and their ability to keep administrative costs to no more than 25% of the donations. By limiting our choice of charities, your contributions are more likely go to those in need and less to the to charities' administrative costs.

We also felt a balance of international, national and regional charities would be a good mix. Each year, we will evaluate the process and may remove charities not chosen by embryo donors while perhaps adding others.

If you have decided to donate your embryos, we are proud of you for contributing such a wonderful gift. Patients such as you inspire us and the least we can do is "pay it forward" ourselves in some small way.

Doctors Without Borders		 Doctors Without Borders is an international medical humanitarian organization whose work is based on the humanitarian principles of medical ethics and impartiality. The organization is committed to bringing quality medical care to people caught in crisis regardless of race, religion or political affiliation. 13%

Make a Wish Foundation International		 The mission of Make-A-Wish Foundation International is to grant the wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions to enrich the human experience with hope, strength and joy. 16%
Save the Children Save the Children is the leading independent organization creating lasting change in the lives of children in need in the United States and around the world. Recognized for their commitment to accountability, innovation and collaboration, their work takes them into the heart of communities where they help children and families help themselves. They work with other organizations, governments, non-profits and a variety of local partners while maintaining their independence without political agenda or religious orientation. 10%

March of Dimes		 The March of Dimes is a national voluntary health agency whose mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects and infant mortality. 25%

United Way		 The United Way improves lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities around the world to advance the common good. 15%

RESOLVE		 RESOLVE's mission is to improve the lives of women and men living with infertility. 15%

American Fertility Association		 The American Fertility Association is committed to preventing infertility whenever possible and to helping people build families of choice, particularly when faced with infertility. 13%

American Cancer Society		 Together with our millions of supporters, the American Cancer Society saves lives, creates a world with less cancer and more birthdays by helping people stay well, helping people get well, by finding cures and by fighting back. 25%

Children's Advocacy Center of SWFL		 The Children's Advocacy of Southwest Florida, Inc, is a crisis center that helps sexually and physically abused children. Their mission is to improve the lives of children and their families through a coordinated response to child abuse and neglect. 12%

Children's Hospital at HealthPark, LMHS		 The Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida is dedicated to giving children and teenagers the highest level of medical and surgical care available anywhere. 26%
